About us
The start of Event Connectors begins in 2017 through a collaboration of Maurice (IT Heroes) and Arne (Upstream) on a project for VVV Netherlands. We linked VVV Netherlands’ National Database for Tourism, Recreation and Culture (NDTRC) to databases of Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Our tool ‘The Feed Factory’ automatically synchronized all events between the databases. Every night, events were thus synchronized between the various (Sitecore) Content Management Systems behind the websites.
Further development of NDTRC after 2020
After NDTRC was discontinued in 2020, we continued to develop the tool and database. We added an editor, a searchable database and more automation. By 2021, “The Feed Factory” became a full-fledged alternative to the large tourism, recreation and cultural database NDTRC.
Growth, solutions and personal support
As of 2021, more and more DMOs were using our tool. With more partners and collaborators, our cooperation grew and now more than 10,000 events, venues and itineraries are created, updated and published every day (automatically). Several collaborators, programmers and web developers help with user questions, further development and web development. We also introduced our special WordPress Events Plugin in 2023 and offer various solutions. Now we form Event Connectors B.V. and offer security and continuity to customers with further development and personal support.
